Pelican Productions was started in 1984 as Video Horse Specialties or VHS Video Productions. Horse Showing (performance) and lessons (education) were the basis of our work. The development of the S-VHS format allowed for higher quality and precision production. We were the first company in North Carolina to offer professional S-VHS in the field and in the editing suite. Growth offered opportunities to expand on the technical side to Betacam SP with digital editing and on the “something” side to corporate and industrial clients. By the end of 2005 and a name change, there were ten employees operating out of a 4000 square foot facility.
Responding to changes in the marketplace (the digital revolution) and a desire to serve larger clients paved to way to form a new relationship in 2006 with Scott Long and InSight Productions. Integrating our experience, equipment and enthusiasm, we’ve formed a partnership that leverages our strengths. This allows us to create solutions that take advantage of the latest technologies and the old fashioned skill of telling a good story to communicate well.
Today we are utilizing our wonderful studio space, expansive greenscreen and latest technology to create new methods of sharing information in the new digital space.
Today, you should do more than just create content for clients. We do! We help distribute the information to the right people, at the right time, in the right place. Our stage is the world. It’s exciting to look back at our simple beginnings and see how far we’ve come in terms of technology. But it’s more important that we have maintained our dedication to the people who have helped us be successful – our clients. Together, the future is bright!
